Examination Results 2009

Our target is to exceed Local and National Averages at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level.

GCSE Results

Over the past ten years all of our students have achieved the Government’s target of 5+ A*-C passes.  In 2009, we reached our target which was to achieve 100% in 11 or more A*-C passes. Our overall A*-A grades also improved from 31% in 2005 to 47% in 2009.  In 2006, the Government began to publish figures for 5+ A*-C passes including Mathematics and English.

Sixth Form Results

The School’s target is to exceed the Local and National Averages and this has regularly been achieved.  The Government has changed the way in which advanced level points scores are reported.  To put this into context, the average points score per student of 1010 reported below is the equivalent of 410 UCAS points or about four Grade B passes at A Level.  The number of A grades achieved has risen from 23% in 2004 to 32% in 2009.
