Thomas Telford School is one of fifteen City Technology Colleges to be established in Britain and is part of the Specialists Schools Programme. The School has two major sponsors: The Mercers’ Company, the premier Livery Company in the City of London and Tarmac PLC, the Wolverhampton based quarrying, building and construction group.
In September 2000 Thomas Telford School established a company called Thomas Telford School Online Ltd providing online learning materials for the complete GNVQ Intermediate ICT Course to 477 comprehensive schools across the whole of England. This has now grown to over 1000 schools subscribing to our courses and resource materials.

We are proud to say the profits from Thomas Telford School Online Limited are put back into education. To date the company has provided sponsorship to 76 schools in the West Midlands who have applied for Specialist School status and given support to 14 junior and infant schools.
Thomas Telford School Online Limited is also the main sponsor of three new Academies in Walsall, Sandwell and Madeley.
